Boy Scouts to Collect Food Donations in Larimer County this Saturday

Look for bags on your front porch this week as Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts from around Larimer County will hit the pavement on Saturday, November 16 from 10 am to 3 pm to collect non-perishable food for the Food Bank for Larimer County.

The Larimer County Food Bank and the Longs Peak Council of the Boy Scouts of America expect that more than 1,000 Scouts will go door to door to collect items for the 28th annual “Scouting for Food” drive.

Cub Scout packs and Boy Scout troops are distributings bags during the week of November 11-15, and will return on Saturday, November 16 to collect food donations. If you have a bag of food to donate, place it outside before 8 am on Saturday. The food bank is in need of items such as peanut butter, canned meat in water, low sugar cereal, pasta, and rice.

Collections at Local King Soopers Stores 

Many Scouts will be canvassing  Larimer County neighborhoods this Saturday, but you will also find some volunteering at the 9Cares Colorado Shares Annual Food and Fund Drive.

This year’s 9Cares event will be held outside the North Fort Collins King Soopers location, located at 1842 N. College Ave. The Loveland King Soopers, located at 253 E. 29th St. in Loveland will be a donation site for Loveland residents.

From 7 am to 4 pm, community members can donate funds and food to benefit the programs of the Food Bank for Larimer County, including Kids Cafe, Food Link, and Food Share.
